Guided Ziyarat in Makkah and Madinah
Furqan Path Travel offers guided visits to important Islamic and historical sites in Makkah and Madinah. These visits allow pilgrims to learn about the life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, the sacrifices of the Companions, and the major events connected to the history of Islam.
Ziyarat in Makkah
Mina
Mina is one of the main locations of Hajj. Pilgrims stay there during the Days of Tashreeq and perform the symbolic stoning of the Jamarat. It is also where Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام demonstrated his obedience to Allah.
Muzdalifah
Located between Mina and Arafat, Muzdalifah is where Hajj pilgrims spend the night after leaving the Plain of Arafat. They combine the Maghrib and Isha prayers and collect pebbles for the Jamarat.
Plain of Arafat and Jabal Al-Rahmah
The Plain of Arafat is the location of the most important day of Hajj. It is where pilgrims gather in prayer and repentance on the ninth day of Dhul Hijjah.
Jabal Al-Rahmah, or the Mount of Mercy, stands on the Plain of Arafat. The area reminds visitors of Allah’s mercy, forgiveness, and the importance of sincere repentance.
Masjid Namirah
Masjid Namirah is located near the Plain of Arafat. During Hajj, the sermon of Arafat is delivered there, followed by the combined Dhuhr and Asr prayers.
Jabal Al-Noor and the Cave of Hira
Jabal Al-Noor means “Mountain of Light.” The Cave of Hira is located near its summit. It is where Prophet Muhammad ﷺ received the first revelation of the Qur’an through Angel Jibreel عليه السلام.
The visit normally includes an exterior view and historical explanation. Climbing the mountain is physically demanding and is not required as part of Umrah.
Jabal Thawr
Jabal Thawr contains the cave where Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه took refuge during their migration from Makkah to Madinah. Their protection by Allah during this journey is mentioned in the Qur’an.
The standard visit includes an exterior view and explanation of the Hijrah. Climbing is not required.
Jannat Al-Mu’alla Cemetery
Jannat Al-Mu’alla is a historic cemetery in Makkah. Several relatives and Companions of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ are buried there, including his first wife, Khadijah bint Khuwaylid رضي الله عنها.
Visitors are reminded to offer the prescribed greetings and supplications for the deceased.
Masjid Al-Jinn
Masjid Al-Jinn is traditionally associated with the occasion when a group of jinn listened to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ reciting the Qur’an and accepted Islam.
Masjid Aisha – At-Tan’im
Masjid Aisha is located outside the boundary of the Haram. It is the place where Aisha رضي الله عنها entered into Ihram for an additional Umrah after receiving permission from Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Pilgrims already in Makkah who intend to perform another Umrah may enter into Ihram from this location.
Ziyarat in Madinah
Masjid Quba
Masjid Quba was the first mosque established by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ after his migration to Madinah. The Prophet ﷺ regularly visited it and encouraged Muslims to pray there.
Whenever possible, visitors will have time to make wudu and perform two rak‘ahs of voluntary prayer.
Masjid Al-Qiblatain
Masjid Al-Qiblatain means “the Mosque of the Two Qiblahs.” It is associated with the change of the direction of prayer from Jerusalem to the Kaaba in Makkah.
Mount Uhud and the Martyrs of Uhud
Mount Uhud was the location of the Battle of Uhud. Visitors will learn about the courage and sacrifices of the Companions and the lessons of obedience, patience, and perseverance.
The martyrs buried near the mountain include Hamza ibn Abdul-Muttalib رضي الله عنه, the beloved uncle of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Jannat Al-Baqi Cemetery
Jannat Al-Baqi is the historic cemetery located beside Al-Masjid An-Nabawi. Many members of the Prophet’s family, wives, children, and Companions are buried there.
Access is controlled by the local authorities and may be limited. Visitors may offer the prescribed greetings and supplications for the deceased from the permitted area.
Masjid Al-Jumu’ah
Masjid Al-Jumu’ah marks the area where Prophet Muhammad ﷺ performed the first Friday prayer after leaving Quba and continuing toward Madinah.
The Seven Mosques and the Battle of the Trench
This area is connected to the Battle of Al-Khandaq, also known as the Battle of the Trench. Visitors will learn how the Muslims defended Madinah by digging a trench following the suggestion of Salman Al-Farsi رضي الله عنه.
Garden of Salman Al-Farsi
The site is traditionally associated with Salman Al-Farsi رضي الله عنه and the events surrounding his freedom from slavery. It reminds visitors of his search for the truth, his acceptance of Islam, and his close relationship with Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Bir Ghars – Ghars Well
Bir Ghars is a historic well traditionally associated with Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Reports mention that he drank and performed ablution from its water. The site offers visitors an opportunity to learn about the wells and agricultural history of Madinah.
Bir Al-Shifa
Bir Al-Shifa is a historical well located in the Madinah region. Local tradition associates the well with an account in which its water, previously considered unpleasant, became good after the blessing and supplication of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
The visit is educational and focuses on the history and traditional account connected to the site. Access depends on local conditions and authorization.
Rawdah Al-Sharifah
Rawdah Al-Sharifah is located inside Al-Masjid An-Nabawi, between the chamber of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his pulpit. It is one of the most spiritually significant areas of the Prophet’s Mosque.
